Hi, my name is Kat Jost - a human who’s determined to be a force for good, as it was the forces for good that have gotten me through the hells I have endured in my past. Some of the most painful hardships I’ve lived through happened during multi-month stays at 5 psychiatric hospitals and 5 outpatient programs for Bipolar Type 1 psychotic episodes. These episodes occurred over the course of 12 years, many of which were spent traveling the globe designing software with no one knowing what I was going through other than family. Ever since, I’ve thought about the multitude of ways that I could possibly serve my community of fellow mental health warriors who are high achievers (and those aspiring to become one) despite mental health challenges. My goal is to make mental health betterment more accessible, casual, social, and enjoyable for these people.
This deep intention is what led to Skilled Not Ill - a business that I began in February 2018 which has been responsible for the execution of over 150 workshops that have all provided the public with practical mental health tools that individuals can use to move towards a more harmonic and peaceful mental space. Whether it’s the art of reframing situations, replacing destructive words with the words that serve, or providing employee empowerment services to businesses, Skilled Not Ill has been committed to exploring the abundance of opportunities for humans to attain a lifestyle filled with more joy, community, and holistic well-being.
